Watch Cash Cab

Cash Cab is a game show that took place in a New York City yellow cab. It was created by Adam Wood. The taxi is unmarked, and you don't know it is Cash Cab until you sit down in the cab. Then the inside ceiling lights start flickering, and you hear the announcer state that you are in the Cash Cab. That is when the passenger(s) realize the entire taxi is equipped as Cash Cab. The driver tells you how far it is until your destination, and asks you if you want to play the game.

If you tell the driver you do want to play, he asks you a series of trivia questions that are worth cash rewards. Your money starts building up as the driver takes you to your destination. There is a part of the game that takes place when the driver stops at a red light. If you have won a specific amount of money, and the driver stops at a red light, he tells you it is the red light challenge. The question has a multitude of correct answers, and the passenger(s) have a specific amount of time to answer.

Cash Cab originally was originally created in Great Britain. It became so popular, it was extended to New York City. It began just in New York City during the day when it started. Eventually it was became so popular that they added Cash Cab:After Dark. They doubled the amount of the prizes on this version of the game. A few years later they producers added Cash Cab: Chicago.

Cash Cab was nominated for several Emmy Awards for best game show. The game show became so popular, different versions of the show in dozens of countries around the world.

'Cash Cab' Runs Over, Kills Vancouver Man

In a tragic story that seems right out of a "CSI" episode, a production taxi cab used in filming the popular mobile trivia quiz series "Cash Cab" struck and killed a man in Vancouver, British Columbia over the weekend, according to The Vancouver Sun. Lindsey Houghton, spokesman for the Vancouver Police Department, said that the unnamed 61-year-old man was struck by the "Cash Cab" on Friday evening, and was taken shortly thereafter to the hospital, where he died.
