Watch Trisha's Southern Kitchen

Trisha Yearwood is well known as a Country singer, but her talent as an accomplished home chef is bringing her a new level of celebrity as the star of "Trisha's Southern Kitchen" on the Food Network. Born in Georgia and living now in Nashville, Trisha's style is classic Southern fare, made in her family's tradition from recipes passed down for generations. Yearwood plates up greens and fried chicken with humor and charm. She often explains a technique as being "how Mama did it". Watching her show is like dropping in on a friend who just happened to be making dinner.

It's not all butter and deep frying, though. Trisha and her husband, singer Garth Brooks, love to experiment with new dishes and work on making the old fashioned recipes a bit healthier. Their invention, Black Bean Lasagna, is a favorite and one of Garth's inventions.

With frequent visits by family and friends, this show defines "Southern Comfort".
